About This Website
The BioAccoustic Community's peer to peer network is becoming strong and reliable. Practitioners communicate with one another at conferences, on forums, Internet radio or through the main office. The new Sound Practitioner Network is intended to enhance that experience in a professional manner.
As Human BioAccoustics (tm) develops into an accepted science it is becoming increasingly important to reach out to the public through the Internet in an authoritative way -- this includes using online, free-speech media.
The Sound Practitioner Network will be introduced at the Conference in May, as a way to connect legitimate BARA practitioners with clients interested in Human BioAccoustics evaluation and analysis.
The SPN site will launch with three main features.
First it will provide a standard format, online, Professional Profile for each practitioner. Users will be able to search through a paginated list and then select a profile. The profile includes a photograph, contact information, and space to explain personal strengths as a BARA. Only currently certified BARA practitioners can join the SPN site. The practitioner's Professional Profile Page can be used as a "stand alone" online business card that the practitioner can use to promote his or her business.
Second, after agreeing to the standard Informed Consent, sound clients can upload voice samples directly to the client's practitioner of choice. This sample (sent to the practitioner's email) will include the user's contact information and any initial questions.
Thirdly the site will provide a contact form from which practitioners can communicate with the Sound Health Office, the Sound health Forums Moderator and the SPN webmaster regarding any questions or offering suggestions for more online features to include in the SPN.
The Sound Practitioner Net is intended to be dynamic and adaptable. Any reasonable feature or tool that will increase the site's usability will be added; this is intended to be a network with equal input from the practitioners, who are, after all, the people who should know best what is needed.
